Perform CPR - HLTCPR201A
(formerly known as CPR Certificate)This course / module provides the participant with the basic knowledge and skills to deal with the casualty who shows no obvious signs of life due to Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
There is no prerequisite for this course / module
Some of the outcomes and skills include:
Scene assessment
Basic Chain of Survival
Primary assessment of the casualty for consciousness, airway, breathing, bleeding
Recognition of the unconscious casualty
Basic airway management and maneuvers
Basic resuscitation techniques
Demonstration of the Semi-Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
Legal obligations when providing first aid treatment
Recording information and calling for further medical assistance
Assisting a casualty with a foreign body airway obstruction
The course is conducted over a minimum period of 2 hours, and on completion, the participants must demonstrate effective basic resuscitation techniques and the application of a Semi-Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to be awarded the certificate.
Validation period
Successful participants will receive a nationally recognized certificate which is valid for a period of 1 yr from the date of issue.
